Dr. Steve Byrd is a 1979 graduate of Emory University School of Dentistry. He had a scholarship to Emory with the National Service Corps, which required him to practice in a rural, under served area after school. He had his wife Penny came in 1979 to Unadilla to serve out that obligation, never expecting to stay. They soon found they enjoyed "life in the slow lane" living in Unadilla, where they decided to settle down and raise a family. Dr. Byrd and Penny have three beautiful children Lindsey, Brian, and Stacey, whom they are very proud of.

The challenge had been to develop a state of the art dental practice and get the quality recognition we deserve in a small town. To that end, we have a spacious, comfortable office with a warm, caring and experienced staff. Dr. Byrd figures he has in excess of 1,650 hours of continuing education since graduation from Emory.  Most of this has focused on Cosmetic Dentistry, Oral Surgery, and Root Canal Treatment. He has been a member of the Central District Dental Society, Georgia Dental Association, and the American Dental Association for 33 years and still remains an active member. During Dr. Byrd's free time his passion is fishing. He is a member of the Georgia Bass Club Federation, in which he has held several offices. When he is not working or spending time with his family, you better bet you will find him on one of Georgia's lakes catching lots of fish.

When you practice in a small town you want to be able to offer "full service dentistry" to you patients. We try to keep everything here and only refer to specialists when it is absolutely necessary. Dr. Byrd is particularly proud of his staff of Tammy, Sabrina, Amanda and Megan, who make this possible. Their training and attention to detail is exceeded by no-one.
